Glasgow

Glasgow is much safer these days than it had been, but it's still an edgier town than Edinburgh. It's less picturesque, more urban.

There are, however, many beautiful buildings from different eras. We didn't get to see the newer architecture nor the important waterfront.

Built in 1471, this is the oldest house in Glasgow. Only four medieval buildings have survived, including the even older Cathedral.

Old meets new. This is one of the oldest theaters in Scotland, but has modern presentation capabilities.   I could swear that those roses on the facade meant this is a Mackintosh building, but I can't find it online so I suppose I'm wrong.

Even this empty lot in the middle of town was full of flowers.   Wabi sabi kept cropping up.
Beautiful moments.
How fun to find this Stan Laurel commemoration, but you can't read it through the vandalism.

Glasgow is full of contradictions. Lovely parts and edgy things. I really liked Glasgow.
