Loch Ness

These people are enjoying Loch Ness in a rational manner.

This souvenir stand didn't seem open, and was the only reminder of all the Loch Ness Monster folderol.

Our guide and driver found a shady spot near the beach and gave us tastes of good whiskey and the Scottish equivalent of Coke, Irn Bru, a soda that tastes like bubble gum. I found it disgusting.

The tour took us through a whiskey distillery and a beer brewery. We would have preferred to spend more time at other sites those days. We were even less interested in St. Andrews, the oldest golf course anywhere. Meh. But others in our group valued visiting it. One of the down sides to traveling with a tour: one tourer's treasure is another tourer's waste of time. Oh well.

    Don't get me wrong:
we did enjoy drinking
a wee glass of spirits
or a pint of beer
now and then.
