As the eclipse began, we watched from our cabin in the woods.

When it got close to totality, we walked down to a dock we had scouted out the evening before.

The clouds were wispy and we had binoculars so we had a splendid view of the corona.
But without the glasses... looking and listening...

To our left was dusk, with a startling sunset. To our right it was night.

The light was eerie. The frogs started their evening peeping. Birds flew back to their perches. Then, in minutes, dawn.

In the evenings we shared little wonders.
|
|
|

We all got tattoos.
